Terms of Service
Effective: 2026-05-13 · Version 2026-05-13
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of Sutory (the "Company") and its users in connection with the use of the Sutory AI companion and personal-wiki service (the "Service").
Article 2 (Definitions)
- "User" means a natural person who has agreed to these Terms and signed up for the Service.
- "Content" means any text, voice, images, schedules, notes, and connection data that a user enters, generates, or uploads to the Service.
- "AI Output" means a response generated by an artificial-intelligence provider contracted by the Company in response to a user’s input.
- "Paid Services" means services that provide additional limits or features through recurring or one-time payments.
Article 3 (Effect and Amendment of the Terms)
These Terms become effective by being posted on the Service. The Company may amend these Terms within the limits permitted by applicable law and will give notice of any change at least 7 days before its effective date (30 days where the change is unfavourable to users). Users have the right to refuse changes; refusal may be effected by withdrawing from the Service.
Article 4 (Sign-up and Age Restriction)
Sign-up to the Service is performed via Apple or Google social login. Once social authentication is complete, the user must explicitly consent to these Terms and the Privacy Policy; membership begins from that moment.
The Service does not allow sign-ups by users under the age of 14 (in compliance with Article 22-2 of the Korean Personal Information Protection Act and the U.S. COPPA). At sign-up, the Company requires self-reporting of the year of birth (four digits) together with a separate age confirmation declaration — the industry-standard self-report model used by global SaaS. The user is responsible for confirming the truthfulness of the year of birth entered, and bears sole legal and civil responsibility for any false declaration.
If an account created through a false declaration is identified by reports, logs, or payment records, the Company may suspend the account without prior notice and destroy the related personal data. Where it is subsequently confirmed that the user is under 14, all data will be deleted without delay at the legal guardian’s request, and any payments will be handled in accordance with the refund policy.
Article 5 (User Obligations)
- Users shall not transfer or lend their account credentials to any third party.
- Users shall not use the Service to enter or transmit content that infringes the rights of others or violates law, public order, or good morals.
- Users shall not gain unauthorised access to systems of the Company, third parties, or other users, nor place abnormal loads on the Service by automated means.
- Users shall not uncritically rely on AI Output as fact; for professional decisions in fields such as medicine, law, or finance, users shall consult qualified professionals.
Article 6 (Provision, Modification, and Suspension of the Service)
The Service is, as a general rule, provided 24 hours a day, year-round. However, the Company may modify or suspend all or part of the Service with prior notice where operationally or technically necessary. Where the Service is interrupted by events outside the Company’s control — including force majeure, system failures, and outages of contracted AI providers — the Company’s liability is excluded or limited.
The use of location-based features (such as nearby recommendations) is governed by the separately published Location-Based Services Terms.
Article 7 (Paid Services and Payment)
- Paid payments are processed by our global payment subprocessor Paddle.com Market Ltd. via the website (tory.my). The mobile app does not provide payment, refund, or plan-change functionality.
- The default payment currency is USD; value-added tax and regional taxes are displayed separately at checkout.
- Monthly subscriptions automatically renew on the same date each month, based on the sign-up date. The Company notifies users at least 7 days before renewal.
- Details of withdrawal of subscription and refund policy are governed by the separately published refund policy page.
Article 8 (Free Trial)
New sign-ups receive 360 days of Pro features for free. When the trial period ends, the account automatically reverts to the free plan and no payment is taken. If the same user repeats trials across multiple accounts, the Company may restrict trial eligibility.
Article 9 (Limits on Liability for AI Output)
AI Output is generated by statistical models and may be incorrect; it may contain bias, errors, or hallucinations. The Company does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of AI Output, and users are responsible for the consequences of actions they take in reliance on AI Output.
Article 10 (Rights in User Content)
- Copyright and other rights in Content entered by the user remain with the user.
- The Company uses Content only to the extent necessary to provide the Service (storage, AI processing, search, recommendations, and backups).
- The Company does not use user Content for model training. Data passed to AI subprocessors (Article 5 of the Privacy Policy) is only routed through channels with no-training opt-out agreements in place.
- Users may withdraw or delete their Content at any time through data export (JSON / Markdown) or account deletion.
Article 11 (Limitation of Liability)
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Company shall not be liable for indirect, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from any breach of these Terms, other than direct damages. Where the Company’s liability for damages is established, the limit of that liability shall not exceed the amount the user paid the Company in the 12 months immediately preceding the incident.
Article 12 (Suspension of Membership and Withdrawal)
Users may withdraw from membership at any time via the Settings screen, and the Company will process the request immediately. Where a user breaches these Terms or applicable law, the Company may suspend membership or compel withdrawal with prior notice (or with subsequent notice in urgent cases).
Article 13 (Data Rights)
Users may exercise their rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, and portability over their Content and personal data, in accordance with the Korean Personal Information Protection Act and these Terms. Details follow the Privacy Policy.
Article 14 (Governing Law and Dispute Resolution)
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes relating to these Terms shall, as a rule, be resolved through mutual consultation between the Company and the user; failing such consultation, the matter shall be submitted to the competent court under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
Addendum
These Terms take effect from 2026-05-13.
